Take a Lunchtime Meeting: On the Phone
Uncategorized April 6th, 2008Are you tired of feeling isolated in your private practice and wish you had more time to meet with other practitioners? Why not schedule a phone meeting. In the privacy of your own office, you can grab lunch and meet with other like minded clinicians. The phone meeting is the perfect solution to feeling alone in your practice and those high gasoline costs.
Clinicians and coaches have been using teleclasses to promote their practices with much success and you can use the same technology to have a meeting with other therapists. There are companies that provide free services to host these telemeetings. Register with one of them, two that I know come to mind, www.freeconference.com and www.freeconferencall.com. After you register, set the date and send out an email to those therapists you want to meet with. You will get what they call a bridge line and the only cost is the cost of a long distance phone call.
Somebody has to act as the host and it’s usually the person who has arranged the meeting and the conference line (also known as the bridge line). If you have never been on a call like this, it may feel different but it is just like a telephone session with a client. If you want, you can even record the call and send it to all the participants. I like that feature for a couple of reasons. If you can’t make a meeting, you can listen to it at another time. My favorite reason though is if someone says something absolutely brilliant on the call, you can listen to it again.
So go ahead and schedule a meeting by telephone.
