Psychotherapy Finances is an independent publication that has been around since 1974. They provide helpful information to behavioral healthcare practitioners that can assist in marketing and growing their practices. The first two issues of every year have to do with salary. They look at niche marketing, manage care issues and legal issues. Since they are completely supported by their subscribers, the material they present is balanced.

If you need to send or receive large files, this is a great resource. Let’s say you have a power point that is too large to send through email, instead of using your personal email, you sign into your account, upload the file and hit send. The person receiving your file is given instructions on how and where to download the file. It is that simple. There is a free account that allows you to send 1G of information. If you require a larger file transfer, you can purchase a monthly account for as little as $4.99.
Blue Host If you want to create a blog, you will need a hosting site. Blue Host has some great features and the price is right. They have great tech support so if you are new to the world of blogging or website hosting, they are great for you. You can host unlimited domains and they will do a free blog set up. The price is also right, especially for all you get. I moved my blogs to this site and have been very happy with Blue Host. They have 24/7 tech support. To visit the site, click on the banner below.
Microsoft One Note
Microsoft One Note is a underused program. It is part of some of the Microsoft Office Suites. If not part of your Office Suite, it is relatively inexpensive.
One note is a digital notebook, very powerful. It is highly flexible and can be used to manage tasks, schedules, projects, notes. It allows you to keep all your information in one place.
Before One Note, I had folders all over the place and I had difficulty finding information. Now I have notebooks with different dividers (remember your old five section divider notebook?)

Free Conference Call is a service available to everyone 24 hoursa day. They provide a secure and private venue to meet by telephone with colleagues for a teleconference or supervision.

You Send It allows you to move big files. If you have a report or a large file that you have to send and not crash your recipient’s email, then this site is for you.
Psychotherapy Finances is a newsletter written expressly for the behavioral health practitioner. It is extremely informative and helpful. A must read for every therapist in private practice.
